A jury convicted William Edward Cortez, the appellant, of committing the offense of murder on an indictment which charged him with committing the offense of capital murder. Punishment was assessed by the jury at life imprisonment in the penitentiary. In an unpublished opinion, the Corpus Christi Court of Appeals affirmed the trial courts judgment and sentence. Cortez v.
